Basingstoke and Deane Children and Young People's Partnership PAG

The Basingstoke Area Strategic Partnership has Priority Action Groups (PAGs). The Children and Young People's Partnership PAG key priorities are to Improve mental health; Reduce not in education, employment or training (NEETs); Common Assessment Framework; Education attainment of looked after children and attendance

Basingstoke and Deane Youth Council

The Youth Council works to make Basingstoke and Deane a better place for youth. They do this by speaking on behalf of youth, creating and participating in local events, and working towards solving. The Basingstoke and Deane Youth Council is events-based. This means that they try to make a difference to Basingstoke and Deane youth through events.

Hampshire Children's Trust

There is a statutory requirement for there to be a Children's Trust to enable partners to come together to consider the needs of all children in Hampshire, to agree a Children and Young People's  Plan and to monitor progress against the improvements in outcomes agreed. The Children and Young People's Plan is the delivery mechanism for children's issues in the LAA. The Trust board is chaired by the Director Children's Services and the membership includes representatives from schools, colleges, Job Centre Plus, the Police, the Youth Justice Service, District Councils, the NHS, and the voluntary sector. The Hampshire Trust is supported in its work by local children's partnerships, currently based upon District Council areas with links to LSPs. In future these arrangements will include all schools and colleges in order to comply with new duties of collaboration.

Hampshire Youth Forum

The Forum is a youth led initiative involving a group of young people from the Basingstoke and Deane area, who want to make a positive difference to the lives of other young people. They play a big part in how the Connexions and Youth Team services are delivered - for example: making sure the centres are young people friendly; helping to decide what information and leaflets are appropriate, and reviewing company policies. The Forum has close links to the vinvolved Youth Volunteering Team and meets once a month in the Orchard Youth Suite where they also consider the Youth Opportunity Fund bids; engage in consultations and undertake the cat mark. Basingstoke Young Carers

Children and young people (under 18) who provide or intend to provide a substantial amount of care on a regular basis. Any one who takes on extra responsibilities that an adult should be doing. Caring for a Parent, Brother or Sister, Grandparent, or relative who is disabled or has an illness and needs care. Basingstoke Young Carers Youth Club offers 10-19 years old with several ongoing and one-off projects. There is also another Young Carers Youth Club open for those between 5-12 years. Basingstoke Youth In Action

Basingstoke Youth in Action aims are to improve the life chances of young people who are failing to achieve or progress through the usual educational routes, to increase the number of young people volunteering in local youth volunteering roles. BYIA will deliver a series of workshops; arts award training and community projects using multimedia visual and performing arts to generate young people's interest in learning and volunteering. These local community volunteer projects and accredited-training will help deliver grass roots training to inspire and build the young people's confidence to become involved in mainstream training and personal development. Wessex Youth Offending Team (YOT)

The Wessex Youth Offending Team is a multi-disciplinary organisation that works both within Hampshire County Council Children's Services and the Criminal Justice System. The YOT has one overriding aim which is to prevent offending behaviour by children and young people (10 to 17 years of age).
