Basingstoke and Deane Area Passenger Transport Forum
The Community Transport team holds a Passenger Transport Forum twice a year in Basingstoke and Deane which is run by Hampshire County Council and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. The Passenger Transport Forum aims to: Promote an understanding of passenger transport services in the area; Provide a forum for discussing passenger transport areas of interest and concern; Disseminate information on passenger transport developments at a national, county, district and parish level; Identify local unmet transport needs and, where possible, contribute to the development of solutions for these; Share good practice; Involve groups in passenger transport initiatives e.g. passenger transport reviews; Provide valuable feedback on proposed new passenger initiatives; Encourage a closer working relationship between transport providers and organisations with an interest in passenger transport services in the local area. Basingstoke and Deane Natural Environment Forum The principal objective of the forum is to promote the management of a sustainable and quality natural environment for Basingstoke and Deane. The forum aims to collate, assess and share information on the status of the natural environment and current relevant activities; help direct and co-ordinate community initiatives to deliver environmental improvements in line with relevant strategies and plans; facilitate improved communication of information and dissemination of good practice across relevant organisations; facilitate improved partnership working to make better use of resources; influence the Community Strategy and other relevant strategies and plans; and raise awareness on relevant environmental issues and promote actions within the Forum and with other organisations Website: http://www.basingstoke.gov.uk/regeneration/environment/ Basingstoke Conservation Network BCN is the umbrella association of voluntary conservation groups in Basingstoke borough. It meets 3-4 times per year to share information and best practice and co-ordinate activities and training across the 11 groups which operate in various areas of the borough. It is supported by BDBC and is a major channel of communication with BDBC departments. Volunteer hours are recorded and reported to BDBC by the individual groups quarterly.
