Trading Standards provides a Buy with Confidence Scheme where HCC take the headache out of finding traders you can trust as all the businesses they advertise have been vetted and approved by Trading Standards to ensure that they operate in a legal, honest and fair way.

The Protecting Older People project (POP) is run and managed by the Trading Standards Service and is part funded by Adult Services. The team considers every aspect from prevention through to supporting victims. "Safe and Sound" booklets, door stickers and phone cards to enable checks on a caller's authenticity, have been given out to support the advice. The simple message is to say "no" at the door.
