Basingstoke and North Hampshire NHS Foundation Trust Council of Governors
The Council of Governors, work alongside the Board of Directors, to ensure that the local community and staff have an influence in how services are developed and delivered by the Foundation Trust. The Council of Governors is made up of local people, staff members and representatives from key organisations, such as primary care trusts which include general practitioners (GPs) and dentists together with representatives from local authorities. They are 14 public governors, five staff governors and eight appointed governors whose responsibilities include gathering the views of the local community about the services our hospital provides; working with the Board of Directors to produce the strategic vision and the annual plan; appointing the chairman and the non-executive directors and agreeing their remuneration; approving the appointment of the chief executive; reviewing the annual report and accounts; appointing the external auditors; developing the membership strategy; developing other programmes of work agreed with the Board of Directors. Basingstoke and Deane Health and Wellbeing Partnership The Basingstoke and Deane Health and Wellbeing Partnership is one of the priority action groups that sit within the Basingstoke Area Strategic Partnership. The PAGs lead on the co-ordination and monitoring of actions against targets, ensuring that partnership activity focuses on and delivers the agreed BASP priorities within agreed timescales. Key priorities of the Health and Wellbeing Partnership PAG are: Reducing Obesity; Keeping older people independent; Promoting physical activity and wellbeing Hampshire Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board The Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board is responsible for improving health and wellbeing across Hampshire and for coordinating the health improvements and wellbeing targets identified in Hampshire's Local Area Agreement (LAA). Membership includes county and district councils, PCT, Community Action Hampshire and the Resettlement of Offenders Co-ordinating Committee (ROCC). Hampshire Local Involvement Network The Hampshire Local Involvement Network (LINk) is an organisation that brings together existing networks, organisations and individuals in Hampshire to give the community a chance to influence health and social care provision. Ultimately, Hampshire LINk enables communities to hold local health and social care authorities to account by questioning what is working and what is not, how things could be improved and where funds need to be spent. Anyone can join Hampshire Link: Carers, service users, community leaders, patient representatives, charities, faith groups, black and minority ethnic organisations, residents associations and youth councils, or anyone who wants to make sure the needs of the community are listened to. The forum links into the North Hants Mental Health Locality Implementation Team which considers Mental Health legislation, and plans and commissions local MH services. The forum is open to anyone with an interest in mental health issues, including mental health service-users, carers, family members, service providers, and service commissioners.
