How to Register with Merlin
BVS Membership is FREE and there are 3 levels. Only full members go through the complete Merlin Good Practice Review. To become a member the Merlin Registration Form must be completed

BVS has 3 Merlin Good Practice Review forms
- The Registration Form is designed to capture the vast array of services provided; assess your organisation's support needs to develop and help determine a sector training programme.
- The Volunteer Review helps organisations realise the "worth" of their volunteers and promotes volunteering good practice.
- The Merlin Good Practice Review is carried out with a skilled development worker as part of an in depth development tool to help your organisation plan for the future

If you need any assistance with completing the form(s) ring 01256 423816 All of the information gained from these forms is used to create our Annual State of the Sector Report showing the wealth of activities and monetary value our sector brings to Basingstoke and Deane Once your membership is approved by the BVS Board you are entitled to access all BVS services and receive a discount on resources hire including the Orchard Community Building Facilities Full Member A VCO based in and providing a service in Basingstoke and Deane, that has completed the Merlin Registration Form, the Volunteer Review and the Merlin Good Practice Review. The full membership criterion reflects good practice in organisational management. The minimum being: a governing document appropriate to the size of the organisation; a non-paid (volunteer) management committee; the correct policies and procedures in line with Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity, Children and Vulnerable Adult legislation; a bank account in the organisation's name with at least two signatories and Public Liability Insurance. Full members have voting rights at the BVS Annual General Meeting Associate Member A VCO that is not based in Basingstoke and Deane but provides a service in the Borough or a VCO based in the Borough that does not want to become a full member. Associate members also have voting rights at the BVS Annual General Meeting Non VCS Member Registered on Merlin A statutory or commercial organisation offering a free or discounted community service in Basingstoke and Deane which can be advertised on the Merlin Charity Directories |
