What is the BASP / What is the BASP?

What is the BASP?

The Basingstoke Area Strategic Partnership (BASP) is a voluntary partnership. It brings together different sectors to focus on local issues in a strategic and co-ordinated way. It was formally known as the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP)

The BASP is a joint venture with all partners working to the same overall aim of improving the quality of life to the benefit of everyone living and working in the borough of Basingstoke and Deane. The BASP acts as a strategic body that focuses on current strategic issues and on future challenges; the individual partners carry out the work of delivering the agreed key priorities.

Working in partnership it provides an opportunity for networking and helps organisations to come up with solutions together. Working together gives us a chance to share information and resources and achieve more than we could do on our own.

BASP have produced a Community Strategy for the Borough called Pride in our Place which sets out the vision for the borough and the key outcomes that partners are working towards. There is also a Summary document listing the 6 key themes of the Community Strategy and the objectives for each theme. BVS Full members are asked what services they provide that help the BASP achieve their objectives and a report can be made available by contacting Maureen on 01256 423816

The Sustainable Community Strategy reflects local need, and local ambition, providing a reference for all organisations in the borough, and a clear focus for working collaboratively towards shared priorities - helping to address the risks and challenges facing the area and its communities - whether social, economic or environmental. The current Community Strategy was agreed in 2006, and is currently being reviewed.
